FAST AND EFFECTIVE RECOVERY

Our clinic is focussed on finding the source of your pain and working with you to treat it, strengthen it and eradicate it. We don't stop there; we work with you to develop a program to not only live pain free but to turn your weakness into a strength for elite performance.

ACTIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUE (ART)

WHAT IS ART TREATMENT?

ART is different to massage therapy, physiotherapy and chiropratic care. It is a patented technique, and probably unlike any therapy you have been treated with previously. It can be of benefit to anyone.

There are over 500 individual protocols unique to ART making it extremely effective and thorough as a treatment for soft tissue injury and movement restriction. We combine it with other treatments such as redcord and Kinesio-Taping providing optimal outcomes.

Each ART treatment is actually a combination of assessment and treatment. A combined evaluation of the tissue texture, tension, movement, strength and function enables us to identify areas of abnormal tissue. The treatment involves directed tension along the area of selected tissue combined with specific active movement through normal range of motion. This effectively cleans out tissue adhesion, restoring normal movement.

REDCORD THERAPY

WHAT IS REDCORD?

Redcord (Neurac) is a treatment method for neuromuscular disorders.

Redcord stands for the common thread between health care and an active life. Neurac (Neuromuscular activation) is our innovative treatment method with standardised testing procedures. The method is a breakthrough dynamic development in the field of therapeutic exercise in combination with suspension therapy.

Neurac is based on knowledge and scientific principles. The method is focused on optimised neuromuscular control for patients with long term musculoskeletal rehabilitation. Redcord Neurac is also suitable for a variety of neurological disorders as post-operative rehabilitation.

ELITE PERFORMANCE CONDITIONING

Not injured? Then let's look at ART Performance Care

If you're not injured but feeling like something is tight, stiff or not moving effectively or is starting to give a niggle here and there, then ART performance care can provide a preventative solution to these problems and even improve your athletic performance.

For example, we treat elite track and field athletes and work the Australian Ironman race every year. We then look at how you run, bike, ride and swim to determine which muscles are hindering your performance and technique. Combining this assessment with ART treatment protocols means a rapid return to optimal performance levels can be achieved. In fact the real positive of ART is it's ability to quickly and efficiently locate the source of the underlying cause of many of these problems, long before you feel the symptoms.

S.A.T.S.M.

Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation.

SATSM uses instruments that effectively break down fascial restriction and scar tissue. This provides the clinician with the ability to locate adhesions through soundwaves and allows treatment of the affected area with the appropriate amount of pressure.

This detects and treats fascial restrictions, encourages rapid localisation and effectively treats areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis, chronic inflamation or degeneration. Treatment in conjunction with ART addresses musculoskeletal strength and muscle imbalances throughout the entire kinetic chain.

KINESIO TAPING

Kinesio Tape is significantly different from normal sports tape. Instead of blocking movement it relies on the activation of nerve and lymphatic pathways present in the body to decrease pain, improve movement and decrease swelling. By providing stimulus to an area the tape provides more sensory information.

This helps with 'proprioception' (awareness of position). Due to the elastic nature of the tape it is an excellent way to manage lymphatic problems. In acute injuries and with children it can aid muscle retraining. For athletes the tape is an excellent means to overcome biomechanical deficiencies and restore 'normal' firing sequences of muscle aid in performance levels and injury.

For lymphatic function it reduces excess heat and chemical substances in tissue, reducing inflammation.
